You already know and love La Stella Pizzeria. Now, comes a new division of La Stella, known as La Stella Pasta & Pastry! Located in Taftville, CT, Pasta & Pastry has taken over the old Poppy & Rye location that has become a city staple over the years. We chose this location because of its history with the local community and because it also holds many convenient parking spaces and handicap accessibility.

Justin Burrows - owner of La Stella - has a love for Italian culture and a passion for Italian baked goods. Kathy Auerbach, co-founder of Pasta & Pastry, had been a loyal La Stella customer since moving to Connecticut from Indiana 8 years ago. Justin met her 2 years ago when he took over ownership of La Stella back in 2019 because she was a regular customer and they began talking. Kathy shared her love of baking and her experience at Johnson & Whales and Justin had always sought to open an Italian bakery, so they decided to partner up.

The vision for La Stella Pasta & Pastry, Italian Market is to offer a unique and diverse experience inside a modern Italian bakery that will carry specialty items including extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette, cookies, breads, & a variety of pastries. Additionally, we'll have soups, salads, pastas, meats, cheeses, and wines. We look forward to having you as a guest as we continue to upgrade and expand the La Stella brand.
